Stephen Rowe had a big few weeks touring Australia in support of his debut album “Broken Hill” which was officially released down under on Feb 3rd.
Stephen kicked off in Adelaide performing at the Grace Emily Hotel before heading to Byron Bay to meet up with his guitarist, Christian Pyle, from the awesome country/rock band, Acre.
After their car overheating in the Australian summer heat … they headed to Tamworth where they played to a packed Tudor Hotel crowd. The response was overwhelming … they were meant to finish at 9pm but they played until after 11pm due to the constant encores!!
The following day, Stephen, hit the Regent Theatre stage - performing alongside The Bees from Germany and the highly awarded Scottish/Irish and now Aussie based duo, The Borderers … before returning for another round at the Tudor Hotel.
Thursday was a huge day of promotion for Stephen … talking to many radio djs to promote the album. He also performed at the Toyota Outdoor Stage at TREC after witnessing his longtime country idols Joy McKean and Smoky Dawson being inducted into the Galaxy of Stars Hall of Fame!
That night, Stephen performed before a crowd of 20,000+ enthusiastic country music fans at Bicentennial Park where he peformed alongside Tania Kernaghan singing the smash hit “Yee Ha!” in which he features on the recorded version on her “Higher Ground” album.
Over the next couple of days there were further live performances at the Tudor Hotel and the Coca Cola Park Stage and an instore performance and cd signing at City Plaza.
On Saturday evening, Stephen accompanied the stunning Tania Kernaghan on the Red Carpet for the 2007 Country Music Awards of Australia.
After Tamworth Festival, Stephen flew to Melbourne to showcase his songs at Manchester Lane opening for new star, Vanessa Raine. He then headed to Sydney for his last Australian show at the Wine Banq in Martin Place opening for former McLeod’s Daughters star and Logie winner, Lisa Chappell.
